BUMBLE FOOT?

by

Hi,

This is my first time posting. We bought two female rats for my daughter several months ago with a 3 level cage. We bought the rats from a pet store and they said that they needed little to no care and of course have no toys or information on rats. Small towns and all I guess. Anyways I began researching about rats not too long ago and wish I had done it sooner because I think both of the rats might have bumble foot because they have what appears to be sores or cracks in their feet and the cage is ALL wire. We have a bowl filled with food at the bottom a waterbottle at the top a litter pan underneath, some pillowcases for them to cuddle up with and PVC pipe one long and one short for them to hide in.

I am just looking ofr suggestions and answers. I want the rats to be happy, and I feel so bad that I have caused their feet to be this way. I DONT want it to permanet (sp) any suggestions? Anyone pLeas!!!

For the bumble foot, and housing and toy suggestions and maybe snack or goodie treat suggestions .

Thank you in advance.
