Hi Danielle,

Newspaper is a bad idea for the exact reason you mentioned! The chemicals used in the ink and printing process can be poisonous, and it's best to not use it for their bedding.

Try something like aspen, or one of the recycled pulp based litters available (like CareFresh).

It sounds to me like Baby might have a bit of a respiratory infection starting up. If you can't afford to get to the vet right now, you could try some Tylan or Tetracycline (http://www.rmca.org/Merchandise/supplies.htm>) and see if a course of that in their water helps her out. If not, you'll have to take her in for stronger antibiotics.

As for cheap toy suggestions, have you looked over the ideas on the Fun and Frolic page of the website? Give it a try, you might find something they'll love.
