OK, now I have to catch up!

gee golly gosh, i won't remeber all the things i want to respond to. ok, jan, no mother is a bad mother unless that mother didn't want to be a mother. kind of a tounge twister if you say it fast. maddie, just have jan give you her email address in hopefully a descrete way (don't title it MY EMAIL ADDRESS). don't even say its yours. then maddie, you can send jan your home address via email. plus, not many people visit this website, and if they ever do, the posting with your email on it will be far back lost among the other older postings.
maddie, i use my bath tub for a swimming place. they can't jump out if the water is deep enough unless they are standing on something floating.
it's ok that you "stole" my joke jan. in fact, i think it should be a regular thing. rats will enjoy typing to other rats. then you can tell your rats what the other rats said because i've never met a rat who could read.
have either of you read mrs. frisby and the rats of nymph? it is such a cool book. it's an easy read, but a big part of it is the story of these rats (they can talk, including mrs. frisby, who is a mouse)who come from a lab where they were made really smart and they can read! then they get so smart that they escape and, well....yeah its a cool book.
rosabella is one of those stop and go rats. she'll run, then stop, then hide, then run, etc.. i've noticed that in her babies too. the other day i had the boys in the traveling cage, and it fell (luckily none of the babies were hurt) and the door came open and tiger ran out, but then he paused and i was able to pick him up.
(sigh) having a mini nursery is bliss, but hard work.
