I have a female, around 3-5 month old female rat, and she seems quite lonely. I want to get her another female rat to spend time with, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. I got her from a pet store where she used to live with another rat, and they seemed to get along great, but the pet store owner also had gerbils in her cage that bit her badly (I know, bad animal husbandry). So, all in all I'm afraid they will fight and hurt each other if I buy another one. I also have a male rat, that has one eye, who is about 2 years old, and he bites BADLY...I don't think he's had any contact with any other rats since another one took his eye out...I'm guessing letting the female rat I have play with him for short periods would be a bad idea, right? Also, is there any breed of rat that I could acquire that would be smaller than most? My female is very tiny, and I'd like her playmate to be also. THanks, sorry for the long thread.
