I'm a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan. I'm so glad they won today on opening day. Last year was the best year we had for a long time. We only lost to Iowa State, and then we lost the Orange Bowl because, I swear, those refs were against us. They kept calling offsides on us but we never moved anywhere! It really peeved me off, and I'm using polite words! Then again, Nebraska lost their (very much lesser) bowl! I live in Nebraska, but grew up in Iowa. Nebraskans pay too much attention to football, and people tease me all the time about liking Iowa, but I think they're just jealous because we made it to a better bowl! :P
Anyway, I'm excited because this year my cousin is a freshman at Iowa. He used to play football in high school, and he had a winning season as a quarterback. He also was a starter on the basketball team and by far the best pitcher on the baseball team. He once threw a 90 MPH and a 92 MPH in a row right down the middle to finish up the substate final game, which they won, but we lost the first state game on stupid errors.
Anyhoo, he's a walk-on this year to the baseball team, which obviously means they value him as a pitcher very high. I just wish the baseball games were televised so I could watch him pitch. Oh well, maybe if we make it to the CWS we can go to all the Iowa games, since we live very near Omaha in a lesser city nearby which I won't announce.
Back to the subject on which I originally made this message, my relatives all came down and watched the big game in our living room on the huge 27" TV. We steamrolled Miami University in Ohio 21 to 3. We intercepted them 4 times and sacked the quarterback thrice. It was a great game. We are looking good so far.
Right now I am listening to my favorite singer's new CD. "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Poodle Hat." I'm borrowing it from my friend, and I definetely need to buy this CD! eBay rocks! It's so hilarious! eBay is a parody of I Want It That Way by The Backstreet Boys. This means same music, different words by Al. (singing along) Don't know why, the kind of stuff you'd throw away, I'll buy on eBay.
