Some sad, shocking, and extremely unexpected news (or the good and the bad of today)
by David
Well, today was going just fine. I woke up in the hotel room this morning with a very good night's sleep. I ate breakfast and rushed off to go take the ACT, which went pretty well, but that's not the point. So after the test, I went over to my girlfriend's house for about an hour and a half. We ate cookies and watched two episodes of Futurama, because they have the second season on DVD.
After that I went to my best friend's house for a bit and then we came back home. When I went downstairs to check on my favorite little ratty (no offense to anyone) I found her in a ghastly state. She was still alive but not moving much (she was still breathing, barely). So I told my parents and asked if there was anything we could do, she's only 3 months old. I pointed out that there are two veterinary hospitals very near our home, one on the next block, the other on the same street as the other a few blocks away. My mom replied , "Well what are they going to do with a rat? Besides, it'll cost money and we're not spending $200 on a thing like that!"
I put her on the bed and covered her with a blanket and gave her some fresh food, cause she was cold. I went upstairs to try and take my mind off it, though it still stuck in there. I came down about a half hour ago to find her not breathing, and now most of her body is very stiff, meaning life has slipped from her body. That's lightly put. Heavily, I could say she died a horrible death. What struck me as odd is that the SAME EXACT THING happened to my brother's hamster. Hyper one day, lying perfectly still the next, and only a few months old.
Okay, new subject. Seeing my girlfriend was great. That was a happy time. Well, now it's been quite a while since I last typed on this message. I went upstairs and had a cup of hot cocoa and played solitaire to relax. Oh, and today a guy from Dad's old work gave my brother and me each a 2 liter bottle of pop, Pepsi for me, Sprite for him. Mine's almost gone already.
Well, I must say that cocoa calmed me down, because I'm not carrying on anymore. When you read this message, you should try that. A cup of cocoa. Really does the trick.
It's almost midnight here, but seeing as how I just drank 2 liters of Pepsi and I'm never tired at midnight anyway, it looks like I'm in for a late-nighter. I'll probably be up till inhuman hours playing GameCube, then try to skip church by saying I'm too depressed about Snowball's sudden passing. I intend to sleep until about 10 am and then laze off for the rest of the day because I have no homework this weekend! That's another good story, think I'll tell it.
It really started Thursday. I had band practice the last hour of the day for the concert that night, so I got my homework for the Geography class I was missing. The teacher never told me it was due Monday, so I thought it was due Friday and got it done. During Friday I got 2 other things for homework, reading and Algebra. I also had English but got it done in class. Now, all of my books are heavy, so any more than 2 assignments requiring a book and it's a hassle to carry home. So, during yesterday's Geography, half the class was gone to Choir and we got time to work on the assignment, so my teacher sent me to my locker to get all my other homework and I got it done. I had several lucky breaks, though, so it wasn't all me, but it partly was .
I'm tired of typing, and there's not much else to say anyway, so peace out! ttyl,
