poor smowball

well, david, it looks like we are on at the same time tonight. I was pretty worried when I read how you described the way smowball was acting. I know I lost Robin Hood in only 3 months too. I guess after Nibbles passed, you realize anything can happen to our little ratties. I know the first time devastated you. do you think you will get another rat? was it really all that sudden? I wonder what happened to her? In a way your mother is right. rats are very inexpensive, untill they get sick ( and they all do!) someone said they are like disposable pets, which sounds cruel, but maybe we should think of them that way. they all get sick so easily. Like I said, if they live more then 18 months you are doing good and Nibbles lived to be 2. Casper is now a month older then 2. This is the first rat I had that lived to 2. At first I used to bury them.( of course oyou always bury the first) but soon realized, I soon have a rat cemetary out there. I also used to take them to the vet. but even then, it is not a "for sure" thing. one cost me $100.00. Now I won't do that unless they are suffering in pain or look like they can't breathe, or roll around in circles, like Roabella.
r.i.p. Snowball. sorry, david. I will always have rats though. Just don't look back at the death.
