My sister was supposed to be taking care of my three rats, (I moved out, college) until i find a place where i can have them, and I check in on them periodically. Lately though, they seem to have some strange problem, and it looks like bad news!
Two of my little angels have blood splattered all over their faces! Eyes, ears, nose, mouth, forefeet...I assume the blood came from the nose/mouth and they spead it w/their feet. Anyhow, they also are covered with tiny scabs all over their neck and shoulders. What can I do to help them??
Two are housed together, mother and daughter. Mom is about 3 yrs old and daughter is about 1. Mom has the crud, but the daughter is just fine. Now my other little guy is dad, he is about 2-3 yrs. and also has the crud. They live in the house in large, roomy cages.
I feed them kay-tee forti- diet. However, for a week or two they were fed regular grain mix. (That is probably why they have the scabs, this always happens when they are off of the kay-tee for a week or more) anyhow, my angels need help now and any advise would be helpful. I wont be able to take them to the vet either--weekend and they are closed!Help!!
