Wow And Some Ranting

by Lila

You're just like me! In the summer, I checked like every day, at least twice a day. Of course, now I'm WAY too busy. High school is a witch with a capital B if you get what I mean!
You know, we need to think of fun stuff to do with rats. I mean, 10 days equals a year for them! They need vacations! Imagine if you didn't leave your room for a day! (which for them is like, over a month). I want to get more creative with rat treats and activites. This room needs to brainstorm!
You know, I'm still furious at pet supplies plus. Which is why I am planning to work there when I turn 16. It's time they shape up the care for their animals. GOSH DARNIT, IF A HAMSTER GIVES BIRTH, YOU TAKE CARE OF IT!!!!! (pant...pant...pant) Yeah, I'm mad at them.
NE ways, how is everyone? Check out all the names I though up. I actually thought of some cool new ones.

Re: Wow And Some Ranting

Sounds like your a bit up tight about 'Supplies Plus' I agree, we should take our rats out more and play with them and do differnet stuff regularly. They will love it. I think. I'm going to take them outside and put them on my trampoline and let them explore. Or I'll build and obstacle course of folders, notebooks, boxes, and CD stacks. I've done it once before. If you have any ideas, let me know. -Jessica :0

Get it off!

by Cheese

Today, my owner tried to put a sort of harness around my neck and body. It was a little too big. I didn't really like it. I just wriggled right out of it. Maybe I'll have to grow a little. -Cheese

I got a rat harness for my rats on my b-day. -Jessica

Re: Names ... ?!?

Is your rat into drinking rum? and Bacardi sounds like a boy name. if you're thinking along those lines here's some names...
Martini
Gin Fizz
Grasshopper
Brandy (actually, this is a good one)
Bloody Mary
Champagne
Beer
Bud
Coors
There's also... Cola!, which sounds like a girls name.

Names

by Lila

I dunno about a drink for a name. My rat looks like she's drunk because of her ear infection. It might be bad luck.
Here are some I thought of AFTER I named all the babies;
Freckles
Dotti
Atticus
Scout
Oedipus (though he's a dumb literary character)
Cola (I like that one from Jessica)
Insomnia (rats don't sleep)
Stella
Rhubarb
Parsley
Grrr I have to think female names....
Neptune
Lola
Lizzania (I dunno how to spell it)
Snickerdoodle
Iradescent
Opey (esp. if you have a blind rat; it's from opalescence)
Moonshine (if you're a hippie)
You could look for an African website with African names. African names are cool and original!

David says we're moving to a bigger house closer to his relatives! And when we get there, I'm going to get Nibbles's old 4X4X2 cage! He says it's WAY bigger than what I'm living in now, and I'm glad, because I am HYPERACTIVE ALL the time! I can't wait!

Bye

by David

I won't be able to get on here again for about a week. Today is my last day of internet in this house, so after we move on Friday and I get my computer working with internet I'll be back, But that'll be at least a week, so say what you want to me now, or I won't hear it for a while.

On the other hand, have I mentioned how COOL our new house is? It is SUPER COOL! It has a full-size hot tub in the basement, two basement bedrooms (so my brother won't fight with me for it) and we're going to get a pool table. The pool table used to belong to my grandpa, then they gave it to my cousin, and now he's off at college so we're getting it. I can't wait. I'll also get cable in my room for once. I'm going to see if my parent's will put a phone in my room, and if they don't have any extras, I'll buy one myself.

Gotta go, arrivederci,

I let my ratters run around on my bathroom floor. Or I take them for a quick shoulder ride. Ciao I think is Italian for good bye. I think it is pronounced "chow". I might be wrong though. I know a few Latin phrases from Lila. And I took Spanish for a year. I was born in Germany so I plan on taking German the first chance I get. Well I g2g. TTYL!

Poppy Seed Muffin is my second rat who lives with Trixi. She is blue and white. Nibbles is my big ol fat rat. LOL. He is super friendly and looks like he just crawled up from the sewer. Looks are not everything. Nibbles is named in honor of David's rat who passed away sadly awhile back. G2 bounce ttyl.

Wassap Jessica?

by Lila

HI! I'm Lila (as you already know). I'm 14. I have three rats. I used to have just one rat, Rosabella, but she gave birth to 10 baby rats five days after I got her, so I gave away 8 to good homes and kept 2. Unfortunately having three rats means a lot of fighting. The babies (they really aren't babies naymore) are Cookies (champagne berkshire) and Sweet Pea (black berkshire). Coookies definetly causes the most trouble, but she gets bit the most. Sweet Pea is very timid, but I have a feeling she's the biter. Rosabella is the sweetest rat ever (no offense to any other ratties) and she has a major tilt from an ear infection that makes her unstable. They would love to meet your ratties.
Well now......i think you're all caught up with me.....there's not much else I can think of. Talk to me! Write us all a big message about all of your ratties!

Hello

by Jessica

Hey Lila (and everybody else), I am turning 13 this Thursday, and (you know this already) I have 5 rats. Mysty, short for Mystery-is a hooded rat (black and white)
Typsy-is all black except for a few white designs on her belly and the white tip at the end of her tail. Thus her name!
Cheese (used to be Dagger, but Jan changed it)- is all black except for 2 small oval shaped white marks on her belly. She is the biggest.
Ginger (used to be Angelface, but too long)-is all black except for a plant-shaped white shape on her belly. Her name is a plant.
Arrow- is all black except for an arrow-shaped white mark on her belly. arrow for Arrow.
Rat History
Before i had 5 rats, i had 2. my mom only wanted me to have one, but i said that she would get lonely and die. so we got 2 females. Clover and Daisy a few weeks and different cages after that Daisy gave birth to 10 babies on Feb. 5. all of them lived. 7 girls and 3 boys. i kept 3 babies (Mysty, Ginger, and Arrow) and Clover. i gave 2 babies to my dad and Jan. and i gave the Daisy and 5 babies back to the pet store.
Later-Clover dies. I ask my dad for Typsy and Cheese back (the 2 i gave him) to make up for Clover. So 2+10-8-1+2=5 There. is that long enough for you, Lila? - Jessica

I am indeed a mature person for my age. I'm smart enough not to give my last name on the internet, and I know not to narrow down farther than city as to where I live.

And a big Literary Rats welcome to Jessica! Five is a pretty big number of pet rats, I'm impressed! Please tell us their names and what they look like. My Snowball is light gray and has dumbo ears. She's only 2 months old and still growing, but still small. I used to have an albino rat named Nibbles that died this September 4 days before he turned 2. I was really sad . Anyway, welcome to the site. Everyone here just LOVES rats.

Well, I'm tired. It's 11 and I dozed off a bit when I was watching Hulk, so I'm going to bed.

See ya,

Hey "Sweet Pea the rat", I'm new to this site. But i have 5 rats and I feed them regular rat food and i give them lettuce. I just plop in the cage, enough for all of them to get some. I also give them wormed up bread every once in a while. They love it! My rats have a wheel too. Only 3 of the 5 run on it, though. Kinda strange.

Hehe, funny you should mention my parents...theydon'tknow. There, I said it. I haven't told my parents yet and it's not like we're actually dating. It's more like, well, enjoying each other's company while knowing we like each other as more than friends. We mainly communicate at school, by e-mail, and, staring today, on the phone. I called her for the first time today. However, we are going to the fall social together on Friday at our school, so that's a plus. The sad thing is that my dad found a job close to where we're moving and we're leaving in three or four weeks. I just keep thinking, "Poor girl." She said every guy she falls for moves away. Oh well, we promised to keep in touch. And besides, she's started using "Love" instead of "see ya" in her signature, and I've done the same. It's strange, but this feels like a strong relationship. Yep, it'll be hard to replace a girl like her. I don't think I'm even going to try, cause it'll be darn near impossible. She's wonderful.

I gotta go, see ya.

I am old,but not old fashioned. I would have said," you'll probably do what you really want to do no matter what we have to say about it." and " either ask her about the movies and MAYBE get a yes. or don't ask her, and NEVER get a yes." forget that rejection stuff, You have to get that out of your head from now on. Put in your head you may get rejectedd and get a nice surprize when you don't. but always go for what you want and don't worry about rejection.

Of course, she was getting ready for the slumber party she's throwing tonight for Halloween (no boys were invited, because most people in my school have sick, twisted, demented minds and would get REALLY weird about it. We completely understood.). Anyway, I'm thinking of calling her tomorrow at around 1 or so. That seems to be the best way...(sighs)...ok, well I'm gonna go play my new GameCube game, The Sims. Thanks, Lila

by David

You've been a great help through this time. All "anonymous" ever did was give me a bunch of crud about "most of the kids your age haven't even reached adolescence yet". That's bull. My science partner just turned 12 and he has hairier arms than me (not to gross anyone out, it's a sign of manhood). I know it grossed Rachel out, but she seems to be over it. Heheh. Yeah. Okey-dokey. Umm...yeah. I think that's it, and btw, Rachel is definitely not shy. You should have seen her in English class when she had to introduce someone at the beginning of the year. It was very elaborate, and you can tell she likes to act. She's also a very good artist. I complimented one of her pictures one day and she said it was horrible. But I reassured her and told her it was WAY better than I could do. Do you think she might have been setting me up to find out if I liked her? I heard somewhere that it's in our (guys) instinct if we like a girl to tell her what she's done is wonderful even if they hate it. Boy, is that ever true! Anywho, I gotta go do homework. Doesn't look like I'm getting a response tonight, so I'll talk to her tomorrow ASAP. Hopefully in 1st hour gym! The other hours I have with her are: lunch, 6th, and 7th. Plus I see her in the halls alot. Yeesh, I really type when I get going. Keep your fingers crossed!

See ya,

David

P.S. The gum thing in my e-mail means this: Today in History I gave her a piece of gum after refusing any to two other friends, so I think she might already know I like her. And the movie thing in the last e-mail means this: Some of my buddies have free movie tickets and are planning to go to a movie together, Rachel being one of them. I heard them and said, "Well, I don't have free tickets, but I've got $120 in birthday money, so can I come?" Of course it was alright. As you can see, I invited her to sit next to me. It should be fun. And I think I might ask her to the fall social next friday right after school (at my school). Besides, There's a dance there . I g2g, ttyl,

Ode to Anonymous

by Lila

I'm happy for you David.
Still, I can't help agreeing with anonymous. (i think i know who it is ). I think you are still young, and I think everyone is young enough to be a child until they are sixteen. They can act mature, do mature things, and hang with mature people until then, but I still prefer holding onto being a kid. I'd much rather see a movie like Brother Bear than Scary Movie 3 (although it does look funny).
Anyway, just.....don't take not feeling lonely without a gf for granted, cause soon you'll be really lonely without someone in that position. PS, not trying to be a mother, but don't go too far with this girl. Even kissing, i think, should be reserved as something special when you're older.....
Anyway, I'm still happy for you, and I think it's cool. I just wanted to justify anonymous's point.

I do see the point

by David

Now that I think about it, teenage hormones make us think so stupidly. Oh well, we asked each other to the school social this Friday (she asked in her last e-mail, but I was going to ask her and I let her know that.), and there's a dance there. We'll have to see. We'll also have to see about that group movie thing I talked about. I want to see that new Eddie Murphey movie. It looks funny. g2g play the Sims, see ya,

David

Big news

by David

Remember when I said that I liked this girl at school? Well, today, one of my friends, who had seen her the night before, said she told him and some other guys that she likes me. Should I go for it? I think I'll send her an e-mail asking to confirm it. Should I? Please answer ASAP anyone.

ttyl,

David

Here's the e-mail I've typed up, titled "Wassup?"

by David

You haven't e-mailed me in forever. Oh, I didn't want to ask you this at school, but (friend #1) said something about you liking me. I just want to know if it's true, so could you confirm that? Also, don't make a fuss about this at school, and your welcome for the gum. The whole reason I'm using e-mail to ask this is to respect your privacy.

By the way, (friend #1) had said you told him this last night, and if so, did you tell (friend #2)? This morning in the gym he asked me who I liked and I thought he was strange. But after what (friend #1) said, some pieces of the puzzle fell into place. You were sending spies at me weren't you? I ask you, why doesn't anyone say anything about this subject themselves anymore? They always send someone else. That's why I'm taking matters into my own hands. I'm not accusing you of anything, just try to confirm what he said. Whatever it really is, you can tell me, I understand completely.

See ya,

David

Okay, couple things. First of all, I've changed what I typed here for the privacy of my friends. Second, I'd like to know some things. Am I being too harsh? Will she respond nicely? Do you think she'll open up with her feelings with this? Should I just settle down? And I haven't sent this yet, I'm waiting for the response to this. PLEASE respond ASAP!!! I need u guys (or girls)!

ttyl,

David

Whoah Nelly

by Lila

Yeah, calm down.
I think this is your big break. The problem is that she might lie and say she never said that cause she's scared. Is she shy at all?
You know, you might just wanna come out with it. Of course I have this friend Martyna, who was in your predicament with a guy friend, and he found out, and said he didn't like her that way, and they've never been the same around each other.
So, you might be taking a risk.
Anyway, back to questions. You aren't being harsh. She will respond nicely, or in an awkward way. You might want to emphasize on the fact that you REALLY want to know how she feels. Don't be obsessive, though.
Of course I had a feeling something like this would happen. Usually people somehow find out because when you're at this ripe age (we both are) you tell your friends everything.
Word travels like a grape vine; it spreads all over the area it's been given. All it takes is planting the seed. I've learned all of this the hard way.
Still, i think you handled it well.
Oh, and calm down! you're only young once!

yikes!

by David

too bad I already sent it! I don't think she's gotten it yet, though. Just to let you know, I've been checking my e-mail all day for the response. I just wonder if I should come right out or not. I'm gonna go send her an e-mail on how I really feel. Ok, done. It says the following:

I can't hold it in any longer. I DO like you in, you know, That way. I was a little harsh before, but I am really, truly sorry. Anyway, you know that movie plan thing? If you want, you could sit next to me. We don't have to be open with others about this thing, but you can always trust me with it. I swear not to reveal any information about this with anybody unless we agree otherwise. Cross my heart and hope to die! (my right hand would've been on a Bible, but my hands are busy:)) I hope, once again, that you were not offended or anything, and I especially hope your feelings weren't hurt. And if this is all a big mistake, and (friend #1) is a stupid, lying weasel, then this conversation never happened. (that was intended to be a joke). PLEASE respond when you get this, by phone or e-mail. Gotta go, my rat's crawling around the keyboard on her own.

See ya,

David
