Just because Judas Iscariot was a bishop, does not mean all apostles are bishops. The Bible does not say that anywhere. Judas became a bishop before the new rules for bishops were announced by Paul. So maybe he was not even married. But if anyone became a bishop before 1 Tim. was written, and did not meet the new qualifications, he was no longer a bishop. He could be an evangelist, an apostle, a teacher, but not a bishop any more. He would no longer oversee a congregation. |
