By now, I'm hoping most of you have heard the potentially good news. But for those who haven't, here you go:
Dynamic Forces broke the news at http://www.dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/dfnews071602.html that Green Lantern: Brightest Day, Blackest Night artist John Snyder III has been asked by Miramax to design costumes for an upcoming Green Lantern motion picture!
And over at http://www.superherohype.com, the RUMOR that Nicholas Brendon (Xander from the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer) was in talks to star in the movie as *AHEM!* Kyle "Butterfingers" Rayner has been proven to be just that: A rumor. Let's HOPE that whoever makes this movie IF it ever gets made has the good sense to realize that ONLY Hal Jordan will be marketable in a GL movie.

All I know, if they do finally make a GL Movie and it stars Kyle Lamer with a modified Hal origin, I WON'T be going ot see it. It's either Hal or nothing!

How could they NOT do a Hal Jordan as GL movie? Jets, aliens, jets, ladies, guardians, Sinestro, ring constructs/ring battles, intersteller jaunts in space and of course...jets!

Kyle, we would get school reunions and gay teenage helpers and art class!

What do you think about Nic Cage as Sinestro? I've had that casting thought for awhile now.
And who would you think would make a good Hal? I still haven't come up with anyone yet.

If you have never seen Farscape then you should check it out Friday night on Sci-Fi channel.Even if you don't agree with my choice this show is great and EVERYONE should watch it.

I used to think Dennis Quaid would be perfect for Hal...(The Rookie, Inner Space) But he's gettin' pretty far up there in years now. Unless they go for an older Hal...

It's about time for a GL movie.

My only hope is that they keep it out of spandex. I've thought for a long time (as most of us have) that GL would make a wonderful film. The real trick is, I don't think it should be a "superhero" film. I think it should be more science fiction/indiana jones. Rather than toss him into spandex, put him in that leather bomber jacker he always used to wear and have it be a movie about a man finding a ring and going off on an adventure...not a man finding a ring and turning into a superhero. I'd bet dollars to donuts that they'll use Sinestro and the Guardians. Kilowog would be in the list too, after all they have to look at this thing from the idea of making toys.

sigh...such potential. Let's just hope Schumaker stays out of it, eh?

Honestly no matter what they do with this movie, none of us will be happy, Hollywood kills all comic movies, they mess up origins, plots, character development, and whoever they choose Hal, Kyle, John (for political correctness), or Guy, we're not gonna be happy, it will a massacre upon the greatest hero legacy of all time.

You mentioned Kyle Rayner, eh? Waaaaaaaaa. Could you cry any more?
