| Well, this was a nice feel good story, sort of. Jade encounters a child malester (sp?) from her past when she lived in an orphanage and abuses the ring power to deal with him. Over all I didn't hate the story, and actually it flowed pretty well. I really didn't have a problem with Jade using her ring for this purpose, what I do have a problem is how her brother and father both worry about her SO much! I mean she is a big girl and can take care of herself and is the Green Lantern, so why is everybody so worried about her? Anyhow, some more foreshadowing about Alan Scott's problem, which will be revealed next issue. An interesting note in the letter section from Keven Dooley says, "Alan looses control of his power and kills alot of people by going power crazy." or something like that, I don't have the book in front of me. But then he says, "I wouldn't do that to an established character, would I?" |

Actually, Dooley isn't quite that graphic in his foreshadowing. He simply raises the idea of "Is Alan Scott becoming a villain" and then makes that comment about "Would I (we) do that?". Maybe every four years they'll keep turning an ex-GL bad until people have had enough. Then again, people haven't had enough of Clinton, so why should they have enough of Marz/Dooley. | |
