Can't wait to see what lame story we get today. Oh sure it may be a cool looking battle, but all in all, It usually takes me about 5 minutes to read it, so I don't expect much. Ho hum. Should I even bothering getting them anymore? The trick is, I want to read about Green Lantern! I am sick of the only story we get is lame! I guess I'll go watch "In Brightest Day" (IBD) again, as that story in 100 times better than the drivel we get handed to us every month, and the kicker is we PAY for this crap! At least "IBD" was free! I would have paid for that!
Yeah, I agree. I must've watched that new Superman/Green Lantern episode at least once or twice a day. Its just too cool. The comic book is boring nowadays, but like you I buy it just because I want to read about GL's.
Anyways, on another note, Hasbro is making a new line of poseable DC action figures similar to the Marvel's Famous Covers line. The first three to be in the line will be the young versions of Green Arrow, Aquaman, and yes, you guessed it, HAL JORDAN!! In his old uniform no less which he appeared in Emerald Knights with. But until DC understands that we won't put up with the drivel, they'll keep making it and thinking how right they were to screw with the mythos. Bottom line is that DC on understands the sales figures and as long as we buy it, they'll make it.
I stopped buying GL after faithfully buying it since issue 114 of the old series! It's painful to me to not be reading GL anymore, but you gotta speak in the one language they understand, the almighty dollar. I used to spend a LOT of money on DC Comics until this past summer - it's now money in the bank.
The comic industry thinks that they can tinker with characters like this and generate some hoopla not realizing that they are toying with the readers who invest emotionally, and financially with those very same characters. There's only two ways to resolve it - stop funding it and start talking about it.
Wow, I'm excited about the new GL figure! I will post that in the news section, thanks Slayer! On the subject of the current series, All in all, issue #111 wasn't bad, finally. Here we get a cool villian, a visit with John Stewart, and the fact Jenny's ring looses it's charge! Some elements that have been missing for quite some time! Of course this may be a fluke, as sooner or later you can put out a decent story, hit or miss. I wish all stories were this good or better, but who doesn't? The fact is, I doubt we will ever get Hal back (at least while Dooley is editor) and if we have to have Kyle as GL, then make him more like the Kyle we all like in the "In Brightest Day" episode! By the way, April will be "Green Lantern month", but no signs of a Hal Jordan book or story except the "Fear Itself" computer art book.

Whats with the cartoon G.L?. looks like Hall Jordan to me ( similar costume, hair, origin/ a little like the super friends G.L.) Faithfull to Gill Kanes vision! doesnt remind me much of kyle Rayner from the comics except his carrer! and name. Maybe D.C. did a study and found Hall Jordan wasnt a popular name compared to that snazzy sounding" Kyle Rayner" cool! and whats with all the Hall Jordan merchandising from D.C.(action figures, rings, beanie babies?)

It seems every part of the D.C. merchandising machine is listening to fan demand for the one and only G.L. of Earth except for the comic side or more specifically the G.L.comic. (eg.The kingdom G.L.s never resemble a Kyle Rayner character). Continue to support Hall Jordan not a clone!( its been done before!) If public demand continues for a Hal Jordan. like character, who knows what will happen, maybe they'l bring him back for good. I doubt we'll jinxs it by supporting who we believe should weild the most powerfull weapon in the universe or any alternate universe for that matter!
