Woo-hoo...They're finally out. And here I thought I was going to see the 7" DC first. Check your local Targets, guys. They're hitting the shelves there first. Sorry, but I don't have a digital camera so I can't put pics up. But you might want to check the Buzzboard. Someone of the guys there have gotten them, and they might be able to put up a few pics. Anyways, bad news..he doesn't come with a lantern. Ah well, guess I'll fashion my own. But other than that, until the DC Direct Hal comes, this fig just topples any previous GL figure. Articulations galore..18 points at neck, shoulders, elbows, biceps, wrists, fingers, waist, hips, knees, and ankles. And its Hal...what else want? Well, maybe the rest of the corps.

I'm headed to Target after work!

September 16 1999, 4:11 PM

I'll be on the lookout starting today! Whoo hoo, about time! Also, watch for announcments of a custom Power Battery, scaled to fit the 9" Hal. It will look much like the larger one for the Hal statue does over in my Mall of OA section. Thanks!

Hope you found one..

September 16 1999, 9:43 PM

cause I've got about three or four Targets in my area and I realized on the boards that there was at least three others around me looking for them in the selfsame Targets. Luck must've been with me today. Now, just gotta wait for the Flash fig next and Hal can have both his buddies with him on top of my TV.

Try Outer Limits...

September 17 1999, 8:09 AM

I know Outer Limits was doing a preorder on sets. Not sure if they were going to sell singles. But as of yet, I haven't heard if they've gotten them yet. Try contacting them at (973)340-9393. Or OuterL@aol.com.

Another tip for those hunting this fig...

September 19 1999, 12:37 AM

Use this UPC code...0 76930 10918 2..for the Green Lantern figure. If there's any set in the back, it'll have these numbers scanned in. Just ask anyone carrying one of those little scanning computers to help you out. I got a whole case today by asking. Not like it could hurt. Even if you see nothing on the shelves, just ask anyway if they could scan in that number.

Still no luck

September 19 1999, 12:28 PM

Well, I have been to 7 Targets in the Atlanta area, will zero luck! I just don't think they are in GA yet. I'll try your trick next week, as I'm sure they will be in this week! Also let me know if you see them in other stores...

Try again..

September 19 1999, 12:58 PM

You might want to try at least two or three again. Cause they might already have it and just not know it. When I bought the case of DC figs, I noticed that there weren't really any markings to identify it as the DC 9" figs. The only thing it had on it was the Hasbro markings and the number of the case. So, if you asked people, they probably got frustrated looking for it if they did cause they won't be able to find it unless they open every hasbro box. Best way, try the UPC codes. They work and at least you'll know for sure its just not cause they couldn't find it. They will scan by the way as "Legends." I don't know why, but that's how they were labeled as at the two Targets I went thru. Oh, and the figs do look cool. There's articulation at the ribs besides the waist so GL can really twist, slouch or hyperextend his spine in all sorts of cool flying poses.

What State are you in Slayer?

September 19 1999, 7:52 PM

I have seen reports of FL getting them, so Georgia should be this week!

The ever popular but expensive state of.....

September 20 1999, 8:59 AM

California. Well, if the box I had was any indication, there's at least under 1100 boxes of these things being shipped to various stores. Not sure if that's solely Targets, but it explains why I've only seen a case per store. Just remember to use the UPC codes...My bro's gonna check TRU when he gets to work there tonight, but they're always late in getting things.

Finally got 'em!

September 20 1999, 1:20 PM

Thanks Slayer! Your trick worked! The 7th Target I went to, still didn't have any on the selves, used the info phone near the toy section/scanner station, and gave the DPCI code to the nice woman. She said they are in the back and produced a case! The funny thing is, she said they have been sitting in the stock room for a few weeks!!! I'm off to a few more Targets now!

Yup..that's what quite a few Target Stores said..

September 20 1999, 4:08 PM

Because the darn case has no identification marks as to what it is. For all they know, its a case of Star Wars toys that they can't put out because of overstock. I've heard the DC 7" are probably on the shelf as well, but noone's gotten the UPC codes yet so I can check. Hope you like that new Hal Jordan..cause he's the absolute best. Okay, the likeness may not be as detailed as probably the DC Direct one in Feb will be, but the damn articulation makes him a way cool GL figure. Kyle 12" figure can burn in hell for all I care...

A very excellent figure!!!!

September 20 1999, 7:54 PM

Just opened up Hal, and I have to say: WOW! A very cool figure. I put him in his classic kneeling pose (you know, kneeling on one knee, ring arm up and the other with a fist!) Very cool fig, I give him a 10 out of 10!

Checked another Target after work, and they didn't have any, so looks like some got them, some didn't.

Yeah, the Kyle fig is lame in comparison. Think I may sell the oaf...

Yup, yup..definitely replaces the old Super Powers as my fav..

September 20 1999, 8:09 PM

Cant' say enough good things with this fig. I've got mine in a flying, ring blasting pose. He's got one knee up, left arm bent on his side with his hand in a fist, and his ring arm extended to his side shooting his beam. I'm got him propped up on a makeshift stand to hold that pose.
Yea, there's at least one Target in my area that still didn't get theirs yet, while the first one I got my set at had a second case today which was gone in a few hours after I spread the word amongst other DC/GL fans around here.

Yeah, I've checked a couple Targets a couple times now. Yesterday someone agreed to scan the UPC, didn't find any, but later ran up to me with a Green Arrow that he found on a shelf in the Barbie section. Rather cooll of the employee. Of course I bought it, you've got to support the Green Team. But thanks for the UPC, it'll help a lot of people. I hope I can get my two Hal's in the next week.

Found one!

October 2 1999, 3:24 PM

I posted on the DC board that I finally found a Hal figure (in addition to the other three)at Jeffrey's toys in downtown San Francisco. 26$, unfortunately. But it was worth it! I'll still look around for another, though; I've got 5 cats and two kids, something is bound to happen to everything I own so I want to put one away somewhere. I'll check some more TRU'ss, someone else in the bay area said they've found them all over the place at TRU's, so that seems to be the right track. Again, thanks!

That was probably me on the DC boards..

The GL figures post, right? Yeah, the DC 9" are just hanging onto the shelves here. If you come down to San Jose, you'll find it at the McKee Road TRU or the Capitol Expressway Target. No scalpers around here seem to have an interest which is a good thing. The bad is if they stick around too long, the stores might not order more. The McKee TRU got another case over the weekend so there's a bundle there. Hadda get myself an extra GL for my own GL collection. The other's on the DVD player waiting for the rest of the JLA to be made.

9" ers found in philly Target

October 5 1999, 7:40 PM

Just wanted to say thanks for the info on getting the figures. I followed your plan of giving the store clerk the upc, and, lo an' behold, they were "in the back"! This, after going there and politely asking if they had them in stock, and, as, usual recieving the "oh christ, here comes another damn collector, I'll just say all we got's what's out" response you usually get. The Hal Jordan figure was well worth the effort,as well as Ollie and Arthur. Once again, thanks for your helpful hints.

Would you believe they are still scarce here in GA!

October 7 1999, 4:59 PM

I have yet to see them on the shelf here in Atlanta. Thankfully for Slayers advise, the UPC trick worked 50% of the time at several Targets. Should have got a Green Arrow now, (kicking myself)

Too bad CA's not a drive away for you..

October 8 1999, 1:13 AM

Cause there's nothing but GA's and GL's clogging the shelves on the TRU by my house. Now, its gotten me worried they won't order more if the next wave comes around. Ah well, at least I got my Hal..
