Yes, for those who want to see my letter and response again, here it is:
First my letter...
Dear Mr Marz,
Let me start out by saying I am NOT a fan of Kyle nor the current series. With that said, I want to tell you how much I enjoyed GL #121! I realize it is some kind of dream or mindgame, but why not make this a permanent change? This would be an excellent new direction for the book, and may even please some of the old time GL readers who miss the Corps (myself included) It is very evident that Kyle NEEDS a Corps to be in, to help set him apart and show he is the best of the bunch. Please try to set this change in motion and explain the dream as a flash forward into the near future and allow this type of setting to exist. Thanks for listening. Also, is there anyway, we can get a new cooler uniform for Kyle in 2000? He needs a new one bad, and he is an artist....
Now his response...
Just a quick note, as it's 11:30 on a Friday night and I'm still at the CrossGen Comics offices and wanting to get home.
I'm sorry you're not a fan of what we done in GL, but to each his own, certainly. I do appreciate you dropping me a line. Heading toward a re-creation of the GL Corps is a logical direction for the book, one I've been toying with for a while now. I felt it was important to stay away from that concept for quite a long time, because we needed to establish Kyle as an individual. Though the job is by no means done, I do think he's a strong enough character now so that expanding the scope of the book is appropriate. I think that by the time the current storyline is over you'll see that some of its purpose was to lay groundwork. Beyond that, I don't really want to give away anything more.
I'm not sure if you're a reader of the book on any regular basis, but I hope at least some of what we do piques your interest.
Thanks for writing.
Best,
Ron
