I ordered it last week. I figured that now when I am in realtionship that maybe this book can give me some valuable input I have had two good friends of mine recommending it to me. They thought it would be good both with regards to a significant other, but also more general in relations to colleagues, friends and family.
Anyone wlse who have already read the book? I am sure I will have some questions once I get started on reading it (which might be this summer considering how much schoolwork I have piled up... *sigh*).

It sounds interesting and would like to check it out sometime. Even though I'm happy in my relationship, it never hurts to have the information to improve things.

I know how to say "please" when putting in my request for sandwich and a beer. And I really do try to make sure that the woman making my sandwich not only has all the proper ingredients, but that they are all fresh and of the highest quality. I wouldn't want there to be concern that I would not be absolutely content with my sandwich. Ain't I nice.

I am a bit critical to these kinds of books that in a way claims to hold a full key to better relationships (whether it be friends or a significant other).
So, my take on it is that it gives very useful guidelines in how to make people close to you feel appreciated so your relationship/friendship can bloom
I also feel that I recognise many of the aspects described in the book, which I feel was helpuful in learning more about myself and what things that are important to me.

I did the assessment in the back of the book, as well as one online. And I get the same score on 3 of them... Which I find a bit confusing. Does that make me flexible or high maintenance??? :P
So, I got
- Words of Acknowledgement
- Physical Touch
- Quality time
Gifts and services were not among the ones I got. But I believe that if I was to marry someone who never helped out and did his share of hosuework it would drive me nuts. So, I guess I need all languages, just the three ones more than the other two.
What is yours?

Do you think a person's love language would effect this/all forums?

I got the book, and what do you think....because a persons love language would effect all their relationships not just romantic...say your love language was quality time, then it seems you would post to this forum more or less, I dont know which, I guess it could be both? But then say it was words of affirmation, so you would compliment people and such. But then say it was gifts youd be sending gifts. But then if it was acts of service the forum would be frustrating. What do you think?
