Low vision student needs advise!

I will try to make this brief: I am a first semester nursing student w/ low vision. My instructors will not allow the use of many devices that I had counted on to succeed (ie, digital bp cup, digital thermometers, magnified syringes). I am unfortunately out of the program now but really feel like I was not given a fair chance to succeed. I would like to discuss what are acceptable and unacceptable accommodations w/ the Alabama Board of Nursing and then plan on re-applying into the program. However, before I do that, I sure could use some input/advise/encouragement from experienced and knowledgeable nurses. My phone number is 334/749-8638 and email is adoptapup@yahoo.com. Thanks :).
