Hi all. This is my first time at this site, and I could use some suggestions. I have been a nurse for 43 years. My nursing experiences are in ICU/CCU, COC/UR, and I was CPR Coordinator for many years. I was a volunteer for the American Heart Association for many years. I have been on disability for three years, secondary to chronic back pain. I have had five spinal surgeries, and the physicians expect me to need more within the next two years. I have neuropathy in my right foot, secondary to a herniation. I am not allowed to bend or twist. I am unable to stand or sit for very long. I have a BS, but not a MSN. I could work from home, or I could do something that allowed me to change positions frequently...ie teaching or consulting. Is it worth it at this time of my life, to get a MSN? I am 64 years old. I love to teach, which I did a lot of, when I was a CPR instructor-trainer and regional faculty. Besides the hospitals, I taught at fire departments, a junior college and at private industries. I also did some speaking. I apologize for rambling so, but I think you need to know this information in order to help. Thank you!
