I havent been working for about 14 months and before that i worked about 5 months. About 10 Months ago a Doc put me on Lithium and Seroquel and a myriad of meds, some I was already taking for the Fibro and ADHD. (forgot that Dx) Well anyway. I havent had to renew my lis. yet and so I wanted to try to go back to work part time, I live in Texas. The drug test came back positive for PCP and Opiates which I dont take any of. So I repeated it and again same result. Well they said it had to be reported and Blah Blah Blah. You know the routine. So I called the state board told them what was going on, They are opening up a full blown investigation. Am I totally stupid you cannot have this kind of problem and be stable and continue to work. Most Bi Polar people are more likely to harm themselves than someone else. Its documented fact. I can understand if she has reservations about allowing me to work under her liscense, but wouldn't you be more concerned about nurses not seeking treatment who are suffering and working under her lisence? It is a small nursing home. She could tell that I obviously wasnt an illegal drug user or so she said. That it had to be a drug interaction. More amusing I take an Amphetamine for the ADHD and it didnt even show up on the Drug Screen at all.
