Sheesh, you guys complain just because you lost a few levels and stuff?
How long have you been playing this game? And how many times have you had to level up? Big deal, so you lose some stuff, and then you complain about it. Just get over it, shit happens, just keep going. How many times have you died? How many times have you had to re-earn all that lost exp? Okay, so now, because the imms had to restore from the last backup, you guys get pissed off and say you're quitting? How many times have you had setbacks? And what kind of an attitude is that, that just because you lose a few levels and equipment you complain your heads off? I mean, so Manshoon loses five levels, why don't you just regroup and get them back instead of complaining about it? If you just put your mind to it, it's not gonna take that long. I mean, I don't mean to flame, but stop complaining and just go on. This is supposed to be a game, don't complain just because things don't go your way.
One of the things that struck me the most as I mudded was when one of my groupmates got killed. Since I haven't mudded that much in the general scheme of things, and I haven't seen much pking, I panicked, and so because of that (indirectly) he died. Yet, he never complained that I did something wrong (he explained to me what I should've done, but didn't make me feel bad about it), didn't go to town and trash-talk the guy, he just continued leading our group, we killed some stuff, re-equipped him, and continued on our merry way. And through it all, while I was saying that we should go and kill that guy and all that, he was calm, and just said no, there's no point, it'd just waste our time, let's just continue. He never complained or anything. I mean shit happens, right? So just learn to get over it, and stop complaining.
Sorry, I've been ranting a bit, but I think it's kinda stupid that recent posts just complain about how the imms aren't taking care of stuff and how you lost equipment and levels. Do you guys ever realize how much they have to do? All your notes, they have to read and think about, they have to code all the stuff in, all the ideas you have, they have to setup up a site, pay for its expenses, and whatnot, and all this time, so that you can play here, for free. They have lots of stuff to do, not to mention catching multiers and the stupid stuff like getting spammed by people sending prays like "I got killed in town and there's no justices! I want you to slay so and so!" and stupid stuff like that. A lot of the background stuff that you see, they did. Have you ever thought about what it's like to be an imm? Sure, you get cool powers, but it's a lot more than just running around looking cool. I think they deserve the proper respect.
I think what Riszok and Melina did was rather funny. Think about what you would do in real life. You're running along, then you get summoned to the presence of an immortal. Would you be a smart-ass to him?
Now that they decided to restore from last backup, just take that solution and go on. If you have a better solution that you think they should do, tell them that. But complaining won't change their mind one bit. They have enough stuff to deal with as it is.
And I mean, this is just a game. This is supposed to be a player-killing, roleplaying mud. So instead of worrying about trying to get a triple-digit damroll from your eq, try:
1) Learning how to pk, and learn how to do it well. You don't need to have the best eq to do it. In fact, some people I know reequip themselves by killing others right after they die, and then work their way up. They don't worry about the fact that they're naked.
2) Learning how to rp. Think up of some unique roles for yourself. I mean, take Elendiel. I myself have never seen her, or met her, but I already know that she's the leader (or was?) of Mystics, and that she's never killed anything. That was a unique role. If you just sit in guild and hoard eq, that's all you'll ever be known as--a target for whenever someone needs eq. If you ever make up a unique role, then you'll be known by that, and you'll make yourself more memorable.
If you just complain about how things aren't going your way, you'll never get anywhere.
Sorry, this is rather long, but the previous posts have seemed rather immature and stupid to me.
