your pinion pointing up 3 degrees really doesn't mean anything. how many degrees is the d.s up or down? then what is the fron u-joint angle? a correctly set up car, put simply, has equal and opposite front and rear u-joint angles, and not more than 3 degrees in each. you need an angle finder and you have to measure all three points: the d.s, the pinion yoke, and the trans yoke. Then you calculate the angles at each u-joint and adjust if necessary.
