Turns out that the crank and rod bearings look fine. It seems I misunderstood something in the earlier discussion between me and the racer. The bearings actually look fine, even the ones on the rods that broke.
7200 rpm limit; I still might opt for aluminum rods but htis would still only be a this-or-that rod choice.
