Hi all

While looking through the After the Battle set on Arnhem, recently lent to me by a friend, I came across an interesting picture (Vol.2 page 337) of a StuG III (Ausf G, I believe) in service with the 55th Field Regiment RA of the Guards Armoured Division, depicted passing through Veghel on Tuesday 19th September (I believe). This vehicle has a white star on the RHS schuertzen, and the gun mount plated over where the 75mm and mantlet would have been.

I was just wondering if anyone out there knows anything about this vehicle or, even better, know if any other pictures have appeared in publications from the Netherlands?

Thanks and best regards

Mike

P.S. - sorry for not being able to make this request in Dutch!

Hi Mike

I don't know the picture you're speaking of, perhaps someone can post it but does it look like the one below?

Hi there Jochem

Thanks very much for sharing that nice picture! The StuG in your photo is something like the one in the After the Battle book, although the plate covering the gun aperture is a little different.

Very useful - thanks!!

Best regards

Mike
