I am interested in getting an Akita, but it will be my first dog. I grew up in a home where there was always one, usually two dogs (never an Akita). I am wondering if it will be alright for me to get an Akita, since technically it is my first dog. I am willing and able to put in a lot of time with the dog. Thanks a lot.
