Our Akita is 7 weeks old and has not learned any of the necessary social skills needed to become a proper family member as of yet. We crate her only at night and when we are not home in order to keep her from developing bad habits, chewing furniture and messing the carpets. Howling is a problem but we are working on that. Her howling is driving our other dog nuts and is keeping us up at night.
