Katy is absolutely right. Akitas should NOT be off-lead. They can be a menace to other animals, and can easily injure themselves or be killed running after something. They aren't trustworthy off-lead, as they will quickly forget about their owners and go off to do their own thing -- which could well be dangerous or destructive.
