Of course he's behaving because he's being bribed! Akitas don't believe in working without a paycheck! As Katy noted, they aren't like most other dogs. If you ever find an Akita who works simply to please SOMEONE ELSE, I want to meet that dog! The trick is to train Akitas so they don't know when they'll get "paid" for their obedience and when they won't. Best to pay them intermitenly to keep them guessing -- and hopefully, behaving.
