My 9 year old Akita keeps biting his elbows. They now look a little bare and pinky red. I put cortisone on the elbows for the itching & it will help for a while. This problem seems too come & go. The vet says it's an allergy to something. Also he his very sensative when you pet his stomach or back. Almost like he's being tickled. He eats meat with his food every other day & also catfish every other day. The rest of his coat is perfect. The dog food is Pro plan beef.
