Hi. I have owned Akita's since 1981, and I really do know what you are going through. I too lived in a war zone.
I now have my first Beta Akita. What a difference to be able to walk down the street or go to a dog park!
My 22 year old son has been promised am Akita for graduation. He has been around the breed since he was five years old. Would you be interested in letting him adopt her. He is over 6 feet tall, weighs 245, and is a body builder, so I don't think he would have a problem controlling her.
