short walks and play times are important for dog health , also some vigorous activity is important for bowel movement. don't over do it, but please do it, the akita is a robust breed and can easily handle a bit of exercise, your dog will let you know when he's had enough, as for Redwitch akita's advice,,,,,,,,,,, well, what can i say, well i don't take advice from anybody with a forced breeding policy, and i suggest you find a vet with at least some knowledge of the breed. to not exercise a dog is abuse which leads to so many of the problems discussed in pages such as this, some people would be better off with goldfish than dogs, the Akita can turn into a 120lb bear-slaying beast if neglected.
