I have a six-month old Akita female puppyand she is only 40 lbs. I researched the breed heavily before getting her and also had two growing up. She met all of the breed standards I could see at 8 weeks and was similar in size to all of the other puppies I had ever seen. But now I fear she is going to stay extremely small for the breed. How much should they weigh at this age? Do they have growth spurts? I just can't imagine her doubling in size. If anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate it.
