My 13 year old, male akita has been suffering from chronic diarrhea for 1-1/2 to 2 years. The vet has done both an ultrasound and x-rays and can find NOTHING wrong except for a slightly enlarged prostate. The vet doesn't feel that it is interferring with his bowel. He is on Rimadyl for arthritis in his hips and rear legs. He is eating Science Diet ID canned and dry. Currently, the vet has him on Medrol a steriod. Has anyone had any experience with chronic diarrhea in their akita? I'm at my wits end.
