I have a pomeranian-poodle mix who like to play rough. when I brought home my second male Akita puppy my mix took him under his wing and they were best friends. Of course they was rough play. As my Akita got bigger and bigger, he did not change his play with the now very much smaller dog and would hurt him, not intentionally. It progressed to the point that the smaller dog felt threatened and would bite him. He took this for a while and now we have to keep them apart. Hope this helps.
