Record sounds of a baby crying & play it so your dog gets used to the sounds. Be sure that when new baby comes home the dog doesn't get neglected or jealousy may result, making it harder for the dog to adapt to the baby. Make sure the dog gets sufficient exercise even though you'll be busy with the babe. Don't provide any other sudden disruptions in the dog's life (i.e., restrictions, etc.). If the arrival of the babe will necessitate changing the dog's routine in some way, change the routine BEFORE the babe arrives so the dog doesn't associate the babe with a disrupted life (dogs like routine).
