I have been reading the dog world and our dogs column over the last few weeks regarding the akita and find it very hard to digest after speaking to others regarding hip scores and whether or not to breed from dogs with high hip scores, but my queston is ""why is chris mclean (scotland melador affix using CH MELEDOR RESISTANCE IS FUTILE at stud with a hip score of 30 on bitches with not much less than that (in the range of 20-30. If you are trying to improve the hip score and life expectancy of the dogs why do people use this dog.and why is a well known breeder using a dog with so high a score????? I will be interested in feedback regarding this
