I'd never heard of anime before - but boy did you just open my eyes. Angie was laughing at me when one of the images loaded as the "start" page.
I don't know why one would prefer anime over the real thing, but my guess would be that it leaves more to the imagination - and the mind is the most powerful aphrodisiac.
