Hi:

I have this monitor on my workbench right now and am experiencing the same symptoms as described in one of the responses about gateway ev700a monitors.

I plug in the monitor, turn on the power and get the green (power) indicator light, but no picture. I did this with the case off and can hear a distinct, faint "click" with no specific period. It sounds like maybe a relay trying to energize, but physically not making the activation. Also, the power switch will not work to turn off the power; I had to pull the plug to de-energize.

Have you had any success with solving this problem? Your help is greatly appreciated as I am looking this monitor over for a friend.

Truly,
Steve

Hi:

Thanks, for the response. The other info I have from the monitor is:

S/N 17014D133876
Manufacture Date Oct 1999
FCC ID BEJCB775B
bar code 7001551

Is there some other identification information necessary to determine manufacturer?

Truly,
Steve

No that is OK

This is LG StudioWorks 775.

The most common problem with this unit is a failed flyback transformer.

Unless you can repair it yourself then the unit is beyond economic repair.

Hi Rich:

Thanks, again for your help with this problem. I am quite (pleasantly) amazed by this forum.

My first career, all four years, was as a radio tech in the Marines. I still have the skills, just haven't fiddled recently. Any chance you can point in the direction of a schematic and a place to get parts?

Truly,
Steve
