Was wondering if you ever did get a schematic for the compaq MV700 monitor... I found the part thats bad but it's too burnt to get a part number. The board location is Q801... Can you help?
Thanks,
Doug

anyone has schematic for compaq mv700 crt monitor?
my mv700 broke down months ago. The monitor can't detect the power sense from my PC. Things that I have done are as follow, please help if you encountered this before...million Thanks!
1. borrowed another compaq monitor from my sister, and it works fine with my PC.
2. opened up monitor and measured the vga cable pin to pin between 2 ends. All pins continuity are ok.
3. measured after PC bootup, three +5V exist at vga cable at monitor side. (i think one of these is for power sense to switch monitor from standby to on mode)
4. shaked cable while everything are connected and power on to check for loose connection and dry joint. no success.
5. visually check for burnt component. nothing was found.
6. tapped/knocked the monitor (for miracles), nothing happened.
7. plugged on with my laptop (just give it a try). Still there was no detection by monitor to switch from standby to ON mode.
Please..if anyone has a better suggestion, please share. Much appreciate if you have the schematic for mv700 so that I can bypass the +5v power sense signal and let my monitor to turn on at all time.
