Schematics for Iiyama monitors are very difficult to obtain. What are the faults with them? I have repaired a lot of Pro410's and Visionmaster 400s.

The VM Pro 510 was giving no video, that has now been fixed (2SC5570 was dead), the VM Pro 502 initially gave a loud scream when powering on and no display. Changed the line output transistor and now I get a small picture that seems to be knotted on itself - have had a look at the flyback transformer and it seems it has cooked itself. According to some blurb I read a common reason for flyback transformers to toast is if the B+ voltage is too high, but not having the details of what it should be I can't find out if that is the case. To make matters worse, the transformer in question (751z904a30), I can only find a supplier in the US, and I am in the UK so it may take some time to arrive

Either way, if that fixes the problem then great, but I'd still like the schematics in case anything else goes wrong with either of them.

Cheers

Hi all parts for Iiyama's under 5 years old you can get from Iiyma UK.

01438 314416 they have a minimum charge per item of £10 so do not order small things from them you need access to a fax as they will send you a parts request form which you have to fax back, they then return it to you with price and availability.

The line output TX can fail on these if the ht fuse does not fail quickly.

HOT failure on the 502 & 510 is quite common it takes out an axial fuse in the psu between the psu TX and some DO220 diodes on heatsinks.

I can not remember if this chassis has the 22uF 50V cap in the PSU primary for setting the psu output but on Iiyama's with this cap change it. This cap is used for the psu regulation and for the supply to the 3842.

Could also do with a schmeatics diagram/service manual for this monitor. I have a very similar problem, The montior sits with the green led on, but won't display anything, prior to it failing was working fine, no funny noises can be heard from it, as i say theres just a problem with lack of picture.

Thanks paul
