I got one somewhat broken Nokia 800 XA which has somewhat strange problem.
When power on the screen shows up normally for about a second but then the screen goes blank. The powerled is still on and green showing that the monitor should be on. Whenever I change the signal source (the monitor has two D-SUBs) from A (where the computer is attached to) to B and back to A the screen goes again on for about a second and off again. This happens also if I power off and on the screen or set display off and on from my display adapter.
The OSD can't be viewed when the screen is blank either but I can see it if I quickly enable it while the computer screen can be seen also.
Could anyone help, or even assume where the problem could be ?
Thank you for any help you can give!

Look closely under bright light can you see OSD now if so the backlight/s are not working this can be due to faulty inverter or signal from main board telling lamps to go off.

However when I tried to watch the screen under bright light it seemed that there is nothing in the screen (I tried even to increase brightness of the monitor during the small time OSD can be viewed, but it didn't have any effect), so I doubt the backlight is not the problem this time. Do you have any other thoughts of possible problems ?

I just bought the same monitor you have off of Ebay and it has the same exact problem. I took the whole thing apart and could not find anything obviously wrong but think it might have something to do with either the power supply or the logic that switches power on to the display circuitry. I was hoping you had some info to share on this issue because when the picture is on for that breif instant it looks damm good!!
Hope you fixed it and can share that info or any other things with me about this monitor.
Thanks, Carl

Did you ever find out why picture goes out. My does the same. Before it goes out, the power supply voltage increases to about 40 VDC from the normal 19 VDC.
