I have P1110 and P1120 monitors that have blacklevel problems. I once found that the P1110 has a "secret" password that opens up extra controls and allows the user to set some extra controls to change the blacklevel (I think it is G2). Is there a similar secret for the 1120, and if so how is it activated?
Thanks,

I have 2 P1110's and both are too bright. (I run with contrast full and brightness right down)
I cannot get brightness down enough using the on-screen adjustments. On my other monitors I usually just open it all up and find the brightness pot inside (Usually on a black package that has FOCUS and BRIGHTNESS knobs - nearly every monitor has it - except THIS one - it has 2 knobs - FOCUS horizontal and FOCUS vertical!) I couldn't find anything that looked like it controlled brightness inside the case -so it MUST be done in software.
Secret password?

This is from earlier post, and is for the HP P1110...
HP P1110 Model D2847 (Nokia) Service Mode
Access to the service mode is as follows :
1) Push SELECT down (ie the down arrow)
2) While holding the SELECT down button, Power on the monitor
3) Release the button after the service menu has appeared.
Activate the service mode always in 79.976K/75Hz.
The password is 7711

Hi,
I've been trying to figure out how to adjust the brightness of my Dell Trini P1110 and was wondering if you could help. It's got only two focus pots on the
Flyback transformer inside holding the select button down only got me the serial number.
Thanx.
Steve.

If you are refering to a Dell P1110 then your info is incorrect this service mode code is for Nokia chassis.
The Dell P1110 is a Sony Chassis G1 code SCC-L22D-A this is the same chassis as a Sony CPD-G500.
Sony monitors do not have a service mode they use electronic screwdriver software called DAS that requires a PC to run the software on, the software needs a dongle to run unless you can find a cracked version and the connection cable.
Hence all the posts about changing resistors.

The P1120 is, apparently, mfg'd by Sony = NO service mode. To make adjustments not available to user's controls, either need Sony DAS or hack the circuitry
