I can't remove the cover of my monitor. Its an ibm g50 with two screws in the bottom. I removed the screws but still i can't remove the cover.WHY? Are two slots in the top of the cover, i tried with a small screwdriver to see if there is not any inside mechanism which holding back the cover but i don;t see anythnig

To open the IBM G50, you need a special tool.
There are two slot on the top of the back cover, one on each side.
The tool is pushed into the slot and then under a plastic latch.
The latch is lifted and the back cover can then be backed off.
Even with the special tool, it is not easy to get the cover off.
I imaging it was made that way so only IBM could service it.

Put IBM G50 facing on the desk. But remember that should put a soft thing between CRT and desk to protect CRT. Take away these two screws. Then tapping on the top of the monitor strongly and it is easy to remove the cover.

Hi we used to put them face down on a piece of faom and remove the two screws put you left are around the unit and lift slightly to take the weight then thump the case along the top between the bezal and rear cab about 3" in from each side this would usually shock the plastic clips to unfasten.
