Hi,

I have this problem with a Viewsonic pf775. The horizontal size started expanding. I turned it off for a few minutes, turned it on again and it was back to normal. After a while it became expanding again. I tried to reduce it with the horizontal size control. I went to min size and the monitor suddenly went dead. Opened it and found TDA8172 was burned along with a diode next to it. As far as I know TDA8172 is a vertical deflection circuit, but the problem I encounterd was with the horizontal size. I already ordered the chip, but I am afraid that the problem may be more serious than this chip alone. Does anyone have any suggestion? Will appreciate any information. Thank you.

Peter

Hi Peter
Did replacing TDA8172 fix the issue?
Was the diode faulty as well?
Thank you
