I have a dell E151FP flat panel monitor and when you power it on the display comes on bright and then goes out. If you turn the monitor off and back on again it will come on bright and go out again. It appears the upper cathode light isn't coming on also. I tested both display bulbs and they are fine. Any thoughts?

I sorry, i cannot help you with your problem, but i do have the same monitor and need the data cable that is built-in to this monitor (the plug that goes to the tower was ripped off) the other end plugs ino the board in the monitor (i was abel to get it out myself)

Do you have any suggestions where i can get this (other than Dell - its second hand)

thanks,

Dylan

Is the tube lighted when it goes dim.Check for dry soldering, especially the line that is supplying the voltage to the heater.

This is a TFT Alan.

The problem is either lamps tired or inverter failing.

What people don't know is that the average lamp life in TFT's is less than the average CRT life.

Hi. I was reading that you're inside a Dell 151fp, and I was wondering i you could tell me, are there any FCC cables leading from the TFT control boards to the monitor, and if so how long they are?
Also, it would be cool if you tell me how fragile they are / look.

thanks
