I have a Dell D1626HT Trinitron monitor that after working fine for 3 years with no color fade or other issues stopped working.
It is currently displaying the full screen in the top 60% of the screen the edges are folded in on the bottom and top. I have tried to use the factory buttons to pull it back out and stretch the screen to fit to no avail. The monitor has been reset and degauzed graphics card pulled and checked for issues.
Is this a common problem and is this easily/cheaply repairable or is it just better to buy a new monitor?

This is a Sony N3 chassis - most common failure is IC007 CXA2043Q, results in many deflection-related problems. Requires above average soldering skills to replace this IC without damaging mainboard.
