Power at the main capacitor

I have this situation.

A 17" monitor mesures arround 400V at the main capacitor of the power supply.

A 14" monitor onlu mesures arround 300V.

Why are the mesures so diferent once the monitor base is the sabe before the capacitor....

AC 230V -> AC to DC rectifier bridge -> DC at the capacitor.

I have seen this a number of times and can only put it down to some sort of resonance between mains filter components.
