LCD goes dim within 1-2 minutes

I have a Gateway Profile 4 and when it is booted the display goes dim, almost black, within 2 minutes. I can barely see the displayed text, but not enough to read. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks Brent

Your lamp has a problem, get a new lamp or lamp controler.
