Looking for help to repair DELL P991 Monitor

I have a Dell Ultrascan P991 Monitor with the following symptoms:
Screen just a bit too bright
Icons slightly fuzzy/poor focus
Flyback lines visible
Just about usable but getting worse so I need to take action.
(usual brightness/contrast buttons don't help)

Other symptom is that if the screen is powered on without any video connection it used to just show a diagnostic box (monitor is working - check signal cable) with white/red/green/blue bars etc on a black background.
Now, since the problem above started, the diag box is still there BUT the background raster is visible (the raster width is about 15% short of full screen width) and the flyback lines are also visible (about 14 lines).

I know enough electronics to get the back off and poke about without getting hi-voltage shocks. Am hoping that either some internal pot adjustment will fix it - or else some component replacement.
Hope that's enough for an expert to comment.

Any advice/guidance much appreciated

Geo
