I hav emy power options on WinXP set to turn off the monitor after 20 minutes of being idle. When i come back to the computer and move the mouse to turn the monitor back on the screen image is distorted. It does not go to the edge on the left side. Then sometimes it expands too large and out of the visible area. Or sometimes the image is even tilted. It usually corrects itself after a minute or two. I've updated the drivers for the monitor, my graphics card and video drivers as well with no effect. Does anyone now any way to fix this? Or at least to determine what the cause is? Someone told me that it's the flyback transformer. Is that something that a mechanically inclined person can repair themselves? |
