You should see an Apple part No begins with "M" what is it.

The type is M4868. The tube is from Sony.

I just powered the monitor up again and now it does not show any picture. Before I would see just a 5cm wide (complete)picture in de centre of the screen. The tube is glowing and I can hear some relais clicking. The monitor goes on (greenled) only if I supply a VGA signal.

Seems like a problem as the GDM500 has with the famous CXA2043Q chip. This apple monitor seems to have a chip like the CXA but it's a Motorola. This chip is located near the VGA input.

Does the unit have a UL list number this usually starts with an "E" then five digits.

Or look for label on the CRT about warnings this sometimes has the manufacturers name on it, not the CRT manufacturer but the chassis.

Hi this problem on these is usually a short circuit HOT due to failed flyback capacitor.
